We like to work with enthusiastic and motivated staff that is compassionate with our patients and passionate about the art of dentistry. Since we are in one of the most beautiful places in the world, it is very attractive to people who love the outdoors. The picture above is taken by Fred walking the Queen Charlotte Track (http://www.qctrack.co.nz/) , one of the 15 greatest hikes in the world, photo below is Fred paragliding over Picton where one of the many cruise ships is just visiting.
We are interested in dentists and assisting staff. Dentists will be mentored in a special program, see below. There might also be an opportunity to become a partner in the practice. Assistants must preferably have some experience in prevention work with patients and work at a front desk. For those who have a certificate Prevention Assistant from the Netherlands or you are a recently graduated Bachelor of Oral Health, or you are a German ZMF, there is a high chance that we can offer you a job, even when this is only for shorter periods (see below).
Combine a year (or two) Work and Holiday
For many countries (including the Netherlands and Germany) New Zealand offers a special Work & Holiday Visa. This is only when your age is under 30 and it is for 12 months. You can work 11 months, get many long weekends (standard in NZ), one holiday and a month to explore NZ. This offer works very well for assistants, for dentists it is mandatory to get registered with the Dental Council (at quite a cost) and then it is worth staying for a longer period then just one year. With two years you may apply for residency (the not easy to get life long access to live and work in NZ). We can offer help with this process. We are experienced as we immigrated ourselves and we already helped several assistants and dentists. We can help arrange accommodation for a part or full period.
You can speed up the process even more by filling in our vacancy questionnaire that you find in the link below.
Mentoring for Integrative Senior Dentistry
Our practice is developing a mentoring program for dentists in Intergrative Senior Dentistry. This two year program covers extensively the intricate details of the complex rehab, maintenance and prevention for the 50-plus patient with aging dentition and periodontium. It includes training time for anamnesis, checking the balance in total body and soul health and nutritition. Diagnostic training includes studying of wear patterns and occlusal relationships. Restorative training is centered around the use of non cytotoxic materials and minimal invasive techniques. Functional training includes basic techniques to restore balanced occlusion at the very moment of doing almost every bonded restoration. Surgical planning and diagnostics are based on sound knowledge of radiographic techniques as OPG and CBCT. Digital implant planning and micro gingival surgery are part of our normal treatment arsenal. With increasing complexity, it is good to have checklists for procedures and a quality system in place. This is also part of our mentoring program.
